Care Support of America Family Care Managers
Care Support of America (CSA) ensures one-on-one support for your family’s needs via a Family Care Manager who is a registered nurse (RN) with an average of over 10 years of geriatric nursing care experience. In addition, CSA’s founder, Dr. Dan Tobin, personally trains our Family Care Managers to best support the needs of you and your family.
Your dedicated Family Care Manager can help relieve the stress of family caregiving with an individualized action plan and follow-up support, whether you’re dealing with an unfamiliar illness or need help with an aging parent who lives far away.
A Family Care Manager can help your parent in the following ways:
- Coordinate local services, such as transportation, housekeeping, buying medical equipment, home healthcare, and more
- Schedule a nurse to accompany your aging parent to doctors
- Help identify trusted assisted living facilities and nursing homes
- Explain your parent’s medical condition and What to Expect as an illness progresses
- Advise you on how to ask doctors the right questions
- Schedule doctor visits, medical test appointments, and other health-related services
- Assist with Medicare and long-term care insurance paperwork
- Help you figure out basic healthcare finances for the best results
Also, if your parents live miles away, a Family Care Manager can:
- Arrange for an in-home safety assessment and, if needed, follow-up visits
- Schedule a visit by a local nurse to your parents’ home, hospital, assisted living facility, or nursing home to assess their situation
- Make scheduled check-in phone calls to your parents and report back to you
